The Sequential Art Club meets every other Monday at 10:15 PM in the Fox building in room 315. SQUART CLUB PRESENTS: THE 24-HOUR COMIC CHALLANGE This Friday, February 29th, at 9pm in the Meyerhoff Private Dining Room, we will kick off this year's first 24-hour comic marathon. Artists are invited to take part in this hardcore event! No sign-up required, just come and give it your best shot. GUIDLINES: Your goal is a complete 24-page comic in one 24-hour period. You are allowed to take naps, small breaks, restroom runs, but don't give up! The idea is to work continuously. Come prepared to begin immediately. We ask that artists bring their own supplies. You will need paper, pencils, ink, and anything else you wish to use to make your comic (headphones, reference materials, etc.). No planning beforehand. You can think about it, and collect supplies/references for it, but you can't start work until the clock begins. We will have snacks and drinks on-hand, but bring some snacks too. Digital comics are also fair game, so bring a laptop and a tablet if you want! Squart Club will also have emergency supplies in case you run out. Unsure? Come and give it a shot anyway! MICA's Sequential Art Club is a club for people who are interested in comics, animation, and similar graphic mediums and who wish to expand their knowledge of the field and learn how to bring their work to an audience. |
